Andy's Diary
22 September (Saturday)
8.30a.m. Started our journey to the Elephant Orphanage Sanctuary in Kuala Gandah, Pahang.
The sanctuary is a shelter for
orphaned elephants.
10.30a.m. Reached Kuala Gandah.
10.50a.m. Listenend to talk by park attendant, Encik Abu.
Found out that all the activities are free of charge.
1.00p.m. Lunch was delicious. Cleaned our plates in minutes.
Went to the elephant sanctuary.
Met a six-month-old male elephant, Sya, and
his one-year-old companion, Sari.
Fed Sya a big bottle of milk.
3.30p.m. Rode on a gentle and tame elephant with my
friend.
Held on as the giant walked into the cool and refreshing Teris River.
After that we rested in one of the huts by the river.
5.30 p.m. Donated some money to the sanctuary for the
elephants.
Journey home. It was the most treasured experience in my life.
