Read the letter below carefully and answer the questions that follow.

Last Monday, Mr Jack went for a meeting in a small town. After the meeting, he checked into an old hotel for the night.

After entering his room, he had his bath and went to bed. He was very tired. As soon as he shut his eyes, he felt the room shaking. Even the things on the tables started rattling. Then, he heard a horrible wailing sound. It did not sound human at all, his hair stood on end. Suddenly, he heard the opening and closing sound of the door. He thought someone had entered his room.

Mr Jack got up and rushed out in his pyjamas. He ran to the reception to make a complaint and asked for another room.

After an investigation, Mr Jack was told that the shaking of the room was due to the lifts going up and down. The horrible wailing was the sound of a violin played by a lady in the next room. Meanwhile, the sound of the door came from the opposite room.

The receptionist told Mr Jack that the hotel may be old, but it is definitely not haunted! He was so relieved and pleased after hearing the explanation. He decided to remain in his room.
